Ballintean only has those Highland cattle - it is, after all, a fairly small estate. The focus with nature-positive ecosystem-engineering grazers in Scotland is, for now, on cattle and ponies as far as I know. But there's possibly a Tauros project happening. Frankly, with deer and sheep, there are huge numbers of nature-negative grazers. So first and foremost, for flora to recover, a better balance with deer and sheep needs to come about.
Many thanks for sharing. What large mammals do they have there in addition to the cattle?
Indeed. Sounds like a great project certainly!
